Although Melissa and I have been making regular trips between Seattle and Portland in preparation for our wedding later this summer, this weekend's trip to Portland was all about the annual Black & White Ball (a charity for Girls & Boys Aid of Oregon). We attended the Ball with Melissa's parents (Jerry and Sara) and several family friends. The Evening was a complete success (unlike last year when Portland was experiencing an unseasonably hot spell and the venue's air conditioners couldn't keep the ballroom below eighty degrees). Over $175,000 was raised. Two friends (Dan and Katie) won a trip to Italy in the "gold ticket lottery". Melissa and I made off with a signed copy of Andrea Johnson (friend and photographer) and Robert Holmes' book Passion for Pinot [reference link] and four bottles of fine Oregon Pinot Noir. Oh,...and let's not forget that we got to spend the weekend with Melissa's parents, which is always fun!
Sarah Bang shot and edited the video you see to the left. I believe she was using a Flip Video camcorder. | | The video player should show in this space. |
